AIDS Alabama devotes its energy and resources statewide to helping people with HIV/AIDS live healthy, independent lives and works to prevent the spread of HIV. 

AIDS Alabama focuses on:

2010-2011 Outcomes at a Glance

  • Served 250 HIV-positive individuals and family members statewide through our direct housing programs
  • Served 716 HIV-positive individuals and family members statewide with our supportive services program
  • Provided $886,246 in rental and utilty assistance statewide to 500 HIV-positive individuals
  • Provided  more than $48,000 in emergency rental and utility assistance to over 50 individuals and family members after the horrific tornadoes on April 27, 2011
  • Provided more than 170,000 nights of safe, affordable housing to HIV-positive indivudals and family members
  • Tested 1,369 individuals for HIV
  • Conducted 2,679 educational presentations
  • Provided more than 50 children with gifts through our Holiday Wish program
