HIV Testing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 21% of all HIV-positive persons in the United States do not know they are infected with the disease.

AIDS Alabama believes that every person should know their HIV status.

Mobile Testing Unit

AIDS Alabama's Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) is the state's first mobile HIV testing and outreach vehicle.  The MTU enables our message of HIV prevention education to be truly mobile and reach those at risk where they live and work.  The unit is equipped with two confidential HIV testing/counseling areas, a waiting area with a plasma television for viewing HIV/AIDS-related educational media, refrigerated storage space for HIV tests, and standard RV amenities including a bathroom and kitchen.  The Mobile Testing Unit enables AIDS Alabama's Department of Education & Outreach to expand HIV testing and prevention education efforts into communities that are underserved, and is utilized at a variety of events and outreach sites throughout the year.
