Latinx Outreach

Testing

We provide free, confidential HIV testing with interpretation in our offices, health fairs, consulates and outreach events in the communities. For more information please contact our Latina Outreach Coordinator, Jean Hernandez at 205-918-8190.

Interpretation services

AIDS Alabama offers interpretation services for medical appointments, case management, and social service appointments for Latinx living with HIV. For more information please contact our Latina Outreach Coordinator, Jean Hernandez at 205-918-8190.

Support Group

Somos Nosotros is our most unique support group. It brings together members of the Latinx population in Alabama, their partners and family members in a community based, culturally supportive environment. Case Management

Our Latina Outreach Coordinator provides linkage to care services, such as making referrals, follow ups, and appointments with clinics for health care, transportation services to and from medical and social service appointments, and housing assistance to Latinx living with HIV. Advocacy

Through the Latino AIDS Coalition (La Coalición Latina sobre el SIDA en Alabama), we are able to advocate for Latinx people living with HIV and for social justice initiatives that reduce disparities in the Latinx community.
